Mary Kuhn is an urban planner whose work focuses on bringing resources to underserved communities. She currently helps manage $26 million in grant funds for disadvantaged areas at the Neighborhood Opportunity Fund (NOF) with the City of Chicago, Department of Planning and Development (DPD).

In this role, she develops programming and strategies to attract, support, expand small businesses and cultural amenities in the South, Southwest, and West sides of Chicago.  At The Resurrection Project (TRP) in the Pilsen neighborhood in Chicago, she served as the lead on a Small Business Micro-Loan project that resulted in 30 new jobs for low-income residents. In 2012, she helped raise $1.9 million in disaster recovery funds for small businesses affected by Hurricane Sandy in Brooklyn, New York.

Mary has a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Dallas and a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from the University of Southern California.
