Join WP+D for a networking brown bag on Wednesday, January 16th from 12:00PM-1:00PM to talk with this month's featured guest: Erin Aleman, Vice-President, Metro Strategies, Inc. 

Erin Aleman recently became the Vice-President of Metro Strategies, Inc after serving for three years as the Director of the Illinois Department of Transportation’s (IDOT) Office of Planning and Programming (OPP). Under her guidance, the office developed plans and programs aimed at improving the state’s transportation system. Core functions included: oversight and coordination of the state’s planning efforts, developing the annual multi-year and multimodal programs, monitoring and surveillance of the physical condition of the transportation system, evaluation of costs and benefits of new infrastructure investments, and to provide data, mapping and research to support these and other projects across the department. The Office of Planning and Programming consists of five bureaus: Planning, Programming, Innovative Project Delivery, Data Collection and Mapping, and Research.

Prior to joining IDOT, Erin was a Principal Planner at the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP). During her tenure at CMAP she built a coalition of invested stakeholders who were committed to the implementation of northeastern Illinois’ first truly comprehensive regional plan -- GO TO 2040. Erin managed outreach and public engagement for the agency on the numerous goals of GO TO 2040, including congestion pricing, tax policy, and coordinated land use and transportation planning.

Erin is a graduate of the University of Michigan and received her master’s degree from the College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University.

Please Note: This is a members-only event limited to five (5) participants. As with every WP+D Small Networking Lunch, registration will open at 12:00PM on the first day of the month during which the lunch will be held. Registration occurs on a first-come, first-served basis and typically fills up quickly. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch; food is not provided. Meetings are held in Randolph Square on the 1st Floor of the Cultural Center. Look out for one of our board members and WP+D signage.

Attendance & Cancellation Policy: We ask that members register for no more than two (2) consecutive lunches. If you have attended the past two lunches and would like to attend this event, please e-mail us at wpdchicago@gmail.com to be placed on the waitlist. If space becomes available or registration isn't full a week in advance, we will contact you. Due to the popularity of these lunches, we ask for a 48-hour cancellation notice. Failure to notify us in advance may result in a 3-month suspension from the Networking Lunch series.
