Join WP+D for a networking brown bag on Wednesday, October 17th from 12:00PM-1:00PM to talk with this month's featured guest: Fran Lefor Rood, AICP, Senior Vice President at SB Friedman Development Advisors.
Fran is real estate and economic development advisor focused on providing clients with customized implementable strategies that achieve community and development goals, and work for both the public and private sectors. Fran focuses on financial feasibility analysis, real estate market analysis, development strategy and public-private finance partnerships. In addition to underwriting over $800 million in public assistance in support of nearly $4.0 billion in development projects, Fran has led the creation of a downtown revitalization strategy in Midland, Michigan, analyzed affordability preservation and community control strategies as part of Elevated Chicago, provided market analyses and development strategies for the Cleveland lakefront, and played an instrumental role in designating a new type of “transit TIF” district in Chicago to generate revenue for $2.1 billion of transit improvements for the Chicago Transit Authority.
Prior to joining SB Friedman, Fran conducted property tax and assessment policy analysis as a Senior Research Analyst at the Cook County Assessor’s Office. She also held graduate-level internships at Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago, Corporation for Supportive Housing and Metro Chicago Information Center.
Fran holds a Master of Urban Planning and Policy degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago. Fran is a member of the American Planning Association, Illinois Housing Council, Illinois Tax Increment Association and Lambda Alpha International-Ely Chapter. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and is a Series-50 Qualified Municipal Advisor Representative.
Please Note: This is a members-only event limited to five (5) participants. As with every WP+D Small Networking Lunch, registration will open at 12:00PM on the first day of the month during which the lunch will be held. Registration occurs on a first-come, first-served basis and typically fills up quickly. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch; food is not provided. Meetings are held in Randolph Square on the 1st Floor of the Cultural Center. Look out for one of our board members and WP+D signage.
Attendance & Cancellation Policy: We ask that members register for no more than two (2) consecutive lunches. If you have attended the past two lunches and would like to attend this event, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org to be placed on the waitlist. If space becomes available or registration isn't full a week in advance, we will contact you. Due to the popularity of these lunches, we ask for a 48-hour cancellation notice. Failure to notify us in advance may result in a 3-month suspension from the Networking Lunch series.
