As Director of Enterprise Operations for Bubbly Dynamics, LLC, Carolee leads all business management activities and contributes to the planning and design of Bubbly’s projects.
Bubbly Dynamics is a social enterprise dedicated to incubating small businesses in formerly vacant industrial buildings located in disinvested communities, while exploring new approaches to resource efficiencies and reuse. Bubbly is the owner/operator and design/construction team behind The Plant, a former meatpacking facility that is being repurposed as a collaborative community of food businesses committed to material reuse and closed-loop systems, and the Chicago Sustainable Manufacturing Center, a derelict paint warehouse transformed into a light-industrial business incubator.
Carolee joined Bubbly in 2013, with 15 years of prior experience as an urban planning and sustainability consultant. She has a strong background in design and policy guidance to support redevelopment efforts, as well as project management experience to facilitate associated legal, real estate, and finance activities. She has been a LEED Accredited Professional since 2005, and she has experience in development and implementation of sustainability strategies for sites, buildings, and operations. Throughout her career, Carolee has been drawn toward projects in disinvested communities that address not only the environmental aspects of sustainability but also economic and social considerations to improve quality of life in revitalizing urban areas.
Carolee has a Bachelor of Arts in Russian from Northwestern University and a Master of City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania, which included coursework in historic preservation as well as real estate development at the Wharton School. She also earned a certificate in nonprofit management from North Park University.
Please Note: This is a members-only event limited to five (5) participants. As with every WP+D Small Networking Lunch, registration will open at 12:00PM on the first day of the month during which the lunch will be held. Registration occurs on a first-come, first-served basis and typically fills up quickly. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch; food is not provided. Meetings are held in Randolph Square on the 1st Floor of the Cultural Center. Look out for one of our board members and WP+D signage.
Attendance & Cancellation Policy: We ask that members register for no more than two (2) consecutive lunches. If you have attended the past two lunches and would like to attend this event, please e-mail us at email@example.com to be placed on the waitlist. If space becomes available or registration isn't full a week in advance, we will contact you. Due to the popularity of these lunches, we ask for a 48-hour cancellation notice. Failure to notify us in advance may result in a 3-month suspension from the Networking Lunch series.
