Join WP+D for a networking brown bag on Wednesday, November 30, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. to discuss professional development and career plans with our featured guest, Angela Brooks, Real Estate Development Manager at the Chicago Housing Authority. (NOTE: This event was initially scheduled in July, but has been rescheduled)
Angela Brooks, AICP a native of Seattle, WA, is a Real Estate Development Manager for the Chicago Housing Authority. In this capacity she manages the redevelopment activities at Oakwood Shores, Lakefront, Harold Ickes and Altgeld Gardens. Prior to this position she worked for FMHC Telecommunications consulting, Heartland Housing, and the City of Seattle Mayor’s Office of Housing.
Angela is equally committed to her profession as she is an active member of the American Planning Association (APA), American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), and is the immediate past At-Large Board member and chair of the National Diversity Task Force. Prior to relocating to Chicago, Angela served on the City of Seattle Planning commission and Boundary Review Board for Martin Luther King, Jr. County in Washington.
Angela obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from Jackson State University and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of New Orleans.
This is a members-only event limited to five participants. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunches.
As with every WP+D Small Networking Lunch, registration will open at 12:00 p.m. the first day of the month during which the lunch will be held. Registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis and typically fill up quickly.
Attendance & Cancellation Policy:
Due to the popularity of these lunches, we ask for a 48-hour cancellation notice if you are unable to attend. Failure to notify us will result in a 3 month suspension from the Networking Lunch series.
We ask that members register for no more than two consecutive lunches. If you have attended the past two lunches and are interested in attending this event, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org asking to be put on the waitlist. If spaces become available or registration isn't full a week in advance, we will contact you.
