Join WP+D for a networking brown bag on Thursday, January 21 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. to discuss professional development and career plans with January's featured guest, Courtney Kashima, Principal at Muse Community + Design.

Muse Community + Design was founded by Courtney Kashima, AICP, to bring an inspired perspective to changing the built environment. Success in this regard depends upon creative and effective community engagement and Muse’s work is collaborative and community-minded. Courtney Kashima is a certified urban planner (AICP) and charrette facilitator (NCI). She has worked nationally and internationally in communities in the areas of land use, zoning, economic development, and historic preservation.

She is the President of the Illinois Chapter of the American Planning Association and a board member of Lambda Alpha International- Ely Chapter. Courtney was a co-chair for the 2013 National Planning Conference held in Chicago. She is a frequent speaker at conferences and her alma mater including as a Wetmore Visiting Practitioner in 2012. She holds a B.A. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Urban Planning and Policy degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

This is a members-only event limited to five participants. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunches.

As with every WP+D Small Networking Lunch, registration will open at 12:00 p.m. the first day of the month during which the lunch will be held.  Registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis and typically fill up quickly.

Due to the popularity of these lunches, we ask that members register for no more than two consecutive lunches. If you have attended the past two lunches and are interested in attending this event, please e-mail us at wpdchicago@gmail.com asking to be put on the waitlist. If spaces become available or registration isn't full a week in advance, we will contact you.
